When used as directed, our products produce sealed concrete surfaces that are both beautiful and long-lasting.

More About Epoxy And Other Finishes

While epoxy is the most common resin for seamless floor systems, as well as the most common top coat, Polyurea and Polyaspartics are more UV-stable and cure more quickly. They are also typically more resistant to microscopic scratches.

They are more expensive than epoxy, but Polyaspartics can also be used in colder temperatures such as coolers or freezers where epoxy wouldn’t work.

Concrete Resurfacing Solutions may suggest an optional or additional coat of urethane to avoid micro scratching (which happens with epoxy), especially in high-end applications with significant foot traffic, or cart or pallet traffic.

Urethane cement is typically used in applications such as kitchens and pharmaceutical companies, due to its ability to resist thermal shock. Boiling water or grease will cause delamination (peeling) of typical epoxy as the concrete floor expands at a different rate than epoxy when exposed to extreme heat. Urethane cement expands at the same rate as concrete, so it is not damaged by high temperatures or heavy hot wash-downs.
